2011 has been a wonderful year for the Tim & Loreen Bliss family!

Kylie is 13 and in 7th grade at Delta Middle School. She loves her classes and is especially enjoying her drama class. She keeps busy with advanced math and science and all her other classes. She is loving her advanced orchestra class this year, still activily playing her violin. After school her violin turns into a fiddle while playing with the Pahvant chapter of the Utah Old Time Fiddlers with her mom and dad, as well as family performances. She also sings beautifully and loves to harmonize with her mom and sister, Julaine. Kylie still enjoys writing music and has won two awards for her songs. She enjoys her clogging and dance class, plays the guitar and piano, and is still an avid reader. She enjoyed performing in the summer musical again this year, enjoyed playing on her volleyball team, and has fun in 4-H.

Julaine is 10 and enjoying her first year at the middle school. She is enjoying playing the guitar and piano and has also taken up the bass this year. She enjoys singing and playing music with her family and has a beautiful singing voice. She is enjoying learning the skill of songwriting. She loves her dance class and enjoyed performing in the summer musical again this year, and was selected to dance in a special tap number. She enjoys soccer, reading, drawing, and spending time with her family. She likes taking care of her little sister, Kiora.

Jaren is also 10 and in 5th grade at Delta Middle School. He loves learning and figuring out how things work. Science is his favorite subject and wants to be a scientist when he grows up. Jaren also enjoys reading, playing with his friends and family and his dog, Copper, jumping on the trampoline, and playing in the water at the reservoir. Jaren enjoys music and playing the piano. He wants to learn the drums and the clarinet. He has performed with the family on keyboards and sings beautifully when his mom can talk him into it. He and Julaine sang in a children's choir last year so his mom knows he secretly likes to. :-) He also enjoyed performing in his second summer musical this year. He is certainly not shy!

Logan is 5 and loving kindergarten. Logan is soooo active and loves playing outside, in the water at the reservoir, and taking care of his dog, Copper. He loves playing with friends and his family and his little sister adores him spending time playing with her. Logan loves playing soccer, learning to read, and loves his guitar lessons. He has also started the piano and violin and enjoys playing around on his harmonica. He likes to sing and has joined his family at performances.

Kiora is 3 and is a pretty little princess. She loves to do what her big siblings do and keeps pretty busy trying to keep up. She loves being read to and listening to her brother, Logan learning to read. She loves her dance class and has danced so cute when her family takes her to performances occasionally. She loves to sing and play on the piano and other instruments when her family members let her. She likes being a big girl and the baby at the same time. She loves being outside and sitting and playing in the sand at the beach at the reservoir and playing in the water. Her mom likes taking her kayaking and she loves it. Occassionally the water relaxes her so much that she falls asleep.

Tim still loves to dairy and is a partner on three family dairies. He keeps very busy with work and at his property on Gunnison Bend Reservoir. He is busy at the res. with dirt work, landscaping, planting trees, building pavilions and getting things ready to build a home, hopefully this coming spring or summer. He is looking forward to only having one piece of property to deal with after they sell their current home. Too much grass to mow and gardens to tend to! The family loves the new beach he made this summer and enjoys his pavillion and the misting system and water fountain he put in. He can build anything! He enjoys kayaking with Loreen when he gets a chance and riding around on his Argo. He loves reading and watching movies. Tim teaches primary at church and has been a scout leader for many years. He is currently serving with Loreen in the Bears den. He enjoys performing with the Utah Old Time Fiddlers playing a banjo and Houndog lap steel.

Loreen still loves to sing, perform, play guitar, and write music. She recently (finally) became a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) and attends meetings in Salt Lake City once a month. She is also busy with Soundcheck Series, another songwriters/musician group and loves attending their workshops, expos and getting to meet so many people. She loves watching her children enjoy music and share their talents with others. Playing music with her family is so rewarding. She also enjoys performing with the Utah Old Time Fiddlers and loves that her hubby has joined the group too. Loreen joined when her daughter Kylie was asked to join, just soon after Kylie started to learn to play the violin. That was two years ago and they are still playing strong. Loreen also loves to sing with The Blue Notes, a community choir she has been a member of for 11 years!! She has enjoyed the past two summers of musicals and that her oldest three are loving to perform with her! She played Fiona in Brigadoon and then this recent summer was Sister Amnesia in Nunsense the Mega Musical. What fun!! Loreen works in the Young Women in her church ward as their music leader and loves being in there with Kylie!

Loreen is so proud of Tim and all the work he has done for the family. They have thoroughly enjoyed kayaking and the view out at their property at Gunnison Bend Reservoir. The process of getting ready to build, and working the land, and just enjoying the water, wildlife, and the view has all been a great journey. She looks forward to living out there, but will miss her current neighbors and ward!

Summer fun, Brigadoon, and updates. Been busy but still need to preserve amongst the chaos!

Wow! It's been a while since I've updated our blog. Thought I would check in. I will have to get busy uploading pictures from our fun summer. We really enjoyed Gunnison Bend Reservoir! Plus we camped, visited family, and kept busy with a summer musical! Loreen and Kylie, Julaine and Jaren, were all part of Fillmore's musical production of Brigadoon! In fact, Loreen had the leading lady role of Fiona! We will have to post pictures. I forget tgo update when life gets so busy. But while I'll update my facebook status, this blog lays forgotten, even though it is here where memories can truly be preserved. I really need to make this into a book someday.
Kylie is in 6th grade and is still doing great on the violin...well fiddle when she is not in orchestra. ;) She is enjoying The Old Time Fiddlers, piano, guitar, tumbling, and clogging. She still loves to sing and performs with me often. Kylie is also teaching herself the ukulele.
Julaine is in 4th grade and is learning the piano and guitar this year. She is still doing great in clogging and is enjoying tumbling one again. She has a beautiful voice and has taken up songwriting like her mom and big sister.
Jaren is also in 4th grade and is so happy to finally be taking guitar lessons. He is also in tumbling and piano. He is in an advanced math class at school and he and Julaine are both members of the elementary schools honor choir. Jaren misses baseball and looks forward to next spring. He also loves scouts and especially the fact his dad is his scout master. He is still ever the inventor. Logan is in preschool and living it! He is also in tumbling and looks forward to soccer season. He also wants to play baseball like his big brother. Logan likes to sing and plays around with any instrument lying around! He loves playing with our golden retriever, Copper, and playing outside with neighbor friends.
Kiora is two and always keeps us smiling. She is finally starting to talk and loves to sign. She loves to sing and dance and has actually done her version of the hula on a stage! She enjoys nursery, and playing with her siblings! Well I'll update Tim and I later!

Leda M. Muhlestein 1938 - 2010.

Its kind of hard to read what the marker says. A real headstone will be placed at a later date. Mom's funeral was today. It just doesnt seem real. Found out my mom, Leda Muhlestein died at the exact same age that her mom, Leda Law died. And, my youngest sister, Alayna, is the same age that our mom was (34) when her mom died. Some traditions just shouldnt be carried on. :(

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Instead of an actual letter, I've decided to write this holiday blog instead. :) I have enjoyed making Christmas Cards online and am enjoying mailing them out through Hallmark.com! Yea for the ease of the internet!!!! I know not everyone enjoys reading these online, so to those, I apologize. Maybe next year I will actually print one! I will add to this letter soon with more events of 2009... plus I need to update this entire blog MAJORLY! I have fallen very behind. So.... If you are reading this know it is a work in progress and I will keep updating! Til then... Merry Christmas!!!

OK.... For starters.... I have to say this has been a very fun year! A lot has happened and the kids have grown up sooo much!

Kylie just turned 11 and is in the 5th grade.. and middle school for the first time. She is really enjoying being in such a "grown up" school. She loves her class, her teacher, Mrs. Holman, and being able to be in orchestra for the first time. She is learning the violin so she can "be mom's fiddle player someday!" Loreen loves the sound of that! Kylie still loves to read and is Loreen's big helper! She still loves to sing and has been enjoying clogging again this year.

Julaine is 8 and is in 3rd grade. A highlight of the year for her was being baptized! She was even asked to talk about it during the Primary Program this year. She loves to read, draw, loves horses, and enjoys playing with her siblings. She is a beautiful singer and when Loreen can talk her into it, she will sing for others. She is also taking clogging and is doing wonderfully!

Jaren is also 8 and in the 3rd grade. He was also asked to speak about his baptism for the Primary program and ended up having the whole thing memorized! He loves being in scouts and making things. He is an inventor by heart and is always doing and creating new things. He loves reading and playing with friends and family. He also loves animals and has been begging us for a dog for years. He loves going out to the dairy with Tim and playing with all the animals, especially the horses and the goats.

Logan is 3 and has recently started Pre School, which he loves! He feels so grown up. He is so funny and silly and, like his older brother, loves telling jokes. He always makes his little sister smile and gets the biggest hugs. He is mommies big helper and always does what he is asked. He is very independent and loves being able to do things for himself.

Kiora is almost 18 months old! And wow has time flown! She is running around like crazy and giving hugs to her older siblings. She is happy, smiley, and so friendly with everyone. She loves music and dancing and has definitley got rhythm! She loves carrying things around and is curious about everything. It is fun seeing her strong personality growing and refining... I think we are up for her challenge! Sweet yet strong!

Loreen is keeping busy with five kids, teaching voice lessons, and still performing when she can. The kids have definitely dropped the number of Loreen's performances and songwriting, but the kids are definitely worth it! Loreen has also been busy helping to raise money to restore The Hinckley Academy, a historic building in Hinckley, in hopes to bring a community theatre back to the area, as well as a private school. They are still working on it, but as the current owner hasn't been very willing to drop his atrociously high price, things are going slowly. While financial backing is growing the beautiful building is slowly crumbling into disrepair, locals hearing rumors the owner is just going to tear it down, and Loreen is saddened to see such selfishness in people when others want to better communities! Meanwhile, Loreen has been working with the local 4-H office and is starting up a 4-H Theatre Club in January! Loreen is also enjoying her church Young Women's Music calling. Loreen and Tim have shared their love of the water with the rest of the kids and they are all little fish! Loreen loved spending time on the reservoir with her family and watching them enjoy the water as much as she loves it. The beach visit this year was even funner, but isn't always as accessible and she appreciates living so close to water! :)

Tim is still enjoying the stresses of the dairy :) and hopes things are going to starting looking up. He is a hard worker and makes his family proud with all that he does for them. He has been busy fixing up the house and yard in the Springs and Summers and has more on the to do list coming up. Houses are never ending money pits it seems! We are enjoying all the hard work though and love our home and big beautiful yard! A home theatre has been a favorite project of his and he looks forward to finishing. Sounds and screens are great, but Tim is one that likes to add touches like star ceilings and wall murals! Tim loves to read, enjoys movies and spending time with the family. He is a great example to his scouts at church!

This year has been full of fun travels, visits with family, and enjoyable moments. We are loving the season of CHRISTmas and pray we will all remember the real reason for the season. We hope this holiday season brings peace to your soul and will be a blessing in your lives in the year to come. We love you all!!

Kiora's first Easter! I can't believe she is 9 months old! (Since March 29th actually) She is getting so big. She loves pulling herself up to things and standing up! She loved opening up plastic eggs and has really enjoyed this weekend!

Just wanted to check in and say I haven't abandoned this blog! hee hee. Life is crazy.... I have so many photos to post and even just sending them from my phone hasn't happened lately. I'll catch up. My life has been consumed with the Hinckley Academy Benefit Show that is THIS Friday, March 27, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Delta High School Auditorium here in Delta Utah!

What have I committed to?! :) Way fun though! Though I do prefer just performing in a show than totally organizing AND performing in a show! Crazy busy!

The show as well as kids activities has just taken all of my time! But, like I said, I want to catch up! Heck, Kiora will be 9 months old at the end of this month!! Time just keeps flying!

I need to post some videos too. I recorded Kerry Manis and I singing and playing a new song (well, I wrote it back in the Fall of 2007, so it's really not too new!) called "Little Town" that I wrote for Hinckley and am singing this Friday AND, I recorded a video just today of me, Kylie, Julaine, and yes, even JAREN, singing "We'll bring the world His truth." High Councilman Brother Dutson asked us to sing again with him out at the Deseret/Oasis ward. I recorded a practice and will post it soon! Super cute. Oh, and we will be singing the same song out at the Hinckley Ward next Sunday.

Kiora is already 7 months old! I've said it many times but I just can't believe how time is just flying! She likes to babble and gets pretty loud, say da da, laugh, play with her tongue, sit and bounce along with music. She loves to try new foods and reaches for everything! She adores her older siblings just as they adore her. She is held probably more than any of the other kids ever were which probably explains why she isnt crawling! When she does enjoy floor time she seems to know just how to wiggle and scoot to be able to reach the toy she wants. She loves her musical stage, her hungry caterpillar and Mortimer the Moose and anything with music or lights! No teeth yet but chews on anything and everything. She is so happy and content and knows she is loved!

:) OK ... even I can't understand her at first over all the excitement, but Kylie is extremely happy that she will be playing Little Red Riding Hood in the 4th and 5th grade play! Also, Kiora, who is facinated with something on the ground (?), turned 7 months old today!!! My how time flies! Crazy that my oldest is ten already. I still remember when Kylie was Kiora's age!!

Well, not only is Kiora 7 months old today!!!..... Kylie got home from school and announced that she had made the school's 4th and 5th grade play and had gotten the role of Little Red Riding Hood! Kylie is very excited as are we! This is fun timing having her excited about performing in a play at the same time as we are working at recreating the community theatre.

Franc D'Ambrosio's Broadway show came to Delta tonight and we took the entire family to see it! Wow! What a tremendous celebration of the music that established Broadway as an American art form. Of course, our favorite songs were from The Phantom of the Opera! He has starred in over 3,000 performances which has earned him the title of the world's longest running Phantom! What an honor for him to share his talent with us. And... believe it or not...all five kids did remarkably well and enjoyed the performance!

I recorded our rehearsal the day before, so...here it is... a medley of the hymn "We Thank Thee, Oh God, for a Prophet" and the primary song, "Follow the Prophet." The actual singing in church turned out really well. I think I may have mentioned this already, but another high councilman in our ward asked us if we "took this show on the road." :) We are singing with him next Sunday out in Sutherland. He has the same topic of "Follow the Prophet" so it fits perfectly. The girls really do a great job and I love singing with them. Layne Dutson, the high councilman we sang with today would like to call on us again, which of course I responded with, anytime! :)

Kylie (Age 10), Julaine (Age 7), and Kiora (6 months). On their Aunt Alayna's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAYNA! Kylie, Julaine and I sang in church today. It was an arrangement of "We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet" and "Follow the Prophet." We recorded a rehearsal yesterday but I had to take a picture if them all dressed up today since their hair wasnt done for the video. Facebook doesnt support my video file extension so I need to figure out how to upload it still. Hopefully blogger will and I can post it to my blog. The girls did a great job and the three of us are quite a team! These three are quite a team too!

It's nearing 4:30 in the morning and this little bundle of giggles is still awake. Yeah, that's a pacifier in her mouth that really isn't in her mouth... she is just playing with it. They never work on my kids! She wasn't interested in nursing because she was too busy giggling so I gave her something to play with... thus the whole present mis guided purpose of the binky.... hee hee. hmmm I must admit she is super cute when she gurggles and laughs! I'm sure gonna hate getting up in 3 hrs to get my oldest three off to school! Groan.... Im tired! Thank goodness for Tim's help in the mornings! Just had to share!

I am loving my new video camera! It is so small and light I cant believe it. I had to compare it's size with our Canon camera which we have had for several years and still love. I should have compared it to our old video camera! It uses a flash drive so NO MORE TAPES!!! YEA!!! Thanks Darla for Justin giving this suggestion to Tim... and Tim to Dan...lol...you, me, and Sharon had better put our names on them! :)
