Costume Party 2008

Those that dressed up for the Halloween Party 2008, the yearly party the Vet throws for all the dairymen. Tim and Loreen are in the middle of the back row dressed as pirates.

First time Tim and I left the baby. Weird but very nice. Great Basin Vet holds a party for the dairies every year. This year it was a Halloween party. Fun! Mike and Steph, Tim, Rick and thats Lorena with the huge grin, are sitting at the closest table. Hard to see with a crappy cell phone camera.

Happy 4 month Birthday to my youngest!

Wow! I cant believe my baby is 4 mo. old today. Time sure does fly. Logan is such a great big brother to Kiora! Logan is 2 and a half and is such a big boy. He thinks it is cute when Kiora is wiggling and loves when she smiles at him which is all the time! I wish Logan was smiling here because he usually does. He is so cute either way. These 2 sure are lucky to have 3 older siblings to play with. But until school gets out they do just fine together. I really do love having 5 kids. I cant imagine the family without happy natured Kiora! And neither can the other kids... they love her so much! HAPPY 4 MONTH BIRTHDAY KIORA!

What a day!

Well, today started out normal... in fact better than normal because Kiora rolled over for the first time!!! Pretty cool milestone. She was having a bit of tummy time (which, honestly, I don't give her much of) on the play mat and she rolled over from tummy to back!!!! (Which is the easiest type of roll over). Whoo Hoo!!! We are in trouble now! It has begun!


Well, then later this afternoon, however, I noticed blood in Kiora's ear! Ummm ok. Not just a little blood, but like the entire ear canal opening was full of it. Partly dried, partly not. How the heck did I miss that??? Not sure how long it had been there.... I swear I didn't see that yesterday. How could I miss it??? I called my sister, Melanie, who has a Master's Degree in Audiology and she went through possible scenarios with me while I waited for the doctor's appointment! Anway I got her into the doctors and to make a long story less full of stress and anxiety like I was feeling, it was not serious. Her eardrum did not burst. No sign of infection. There really wasn't any sign of major trauma or anything. Probably just her fingernails scratching her ear canal and the blood pooled in the opening. The one simple easy possibility that Melanie related to me was, luckily, the one it was! Really weird though. I even asked Logan if he had touched Kiora's ears but he said no, and I do believe him. He has always been really gentle with her and I haven't left them alone together.

Anyway, I'm just grateful that she is healthy and happy and doing well. Time to clip her fingernails!

And again, yea for rolling over today. Oh, by the way, she is 13.4 lbs!!!!

Oh man was she blowing raspberries!!! Of course that was BEFORE I took a video of her, and she wouldn't do it again. Until AFTER, of course, I quit videoing her. Whatsupwitthat!??? Yeah, like Alayna would say, "She's not a performing monkey!" I know, Alayna. She's much cuter. Oh well, here is what I do have. Still super cute. Sorry it is so long.

Jaren lost his 4th tooth on 10-23-08

Jaren lost his fourth tooth just now. Yea. It has been bugging him for a week now. Especially since Sunday. He is so so so very happy and excited that it has finally fallen out. He is glad that he lost it before Halloween so that he does not have any problems eating apples or candy.

Bliss at Carrabbas

Great way to end a great day... a great meal at Carrabbas Italian Grill! Yummy! Tim & Loreen with their 5 kids. Kylie Julaine Jaren Logan and Kiora. When we left the hostesses called us amazing. Was that for having 5 kids or because the kids did amazingly well in the restaurant? I am kind of biased when it comes to believing we have such good kids so it probably was the number thing. ha ha. No actually they do quite well. Other wise we would never do as much stuff as we do with our kids. We tell them that if they want to keep doing fun things they have to obey. I guess it works pretty well. There really is a lot to do around Utah. We did not want to travel far but with the kids being out of school we wanted to feel like we had some what of a vacation. We stayed one night at SpringHill Suites Marriott right there at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi Ut. Cornbellys Corn Maze had a lot for the kids to do. They always love the Museum of Ancient History and the dinosaurs there. And of course, we love eating good food. 10-21-08

The Pumpkin Princess

Ok, seriously, this Pumpkin Princess thing is a big deal! Kylie saw the princess in her carriage, which they had sat in earlier and was excited to get in and sit next to her. Photo op!

Jaren saw that the girls got candy when they sat with the Pumpkin Princess in her pumpkin coach, and wasn't about to be left out. So, into the carriage he went and of course, we had to get a picture of him too. He said later that he liked it when she called him a PRINCE!! How cute!

Actually, Logan was the first on the pedal cars..... crazy, but the kids were jumping on the, I think they were called the Jumping Pillows, big jumpy things, when all of a sudden I couldn't find Logan.

Just enjoying the October 70 degree weather! Julaine, who normally hates me taking pictures of her actually wanted me to on October 17, 2008. I told her she had beautiful lashes and she wanted to see. Logan always wants me to take pictures of him!

On October 17th Kiora decided to try elephant. She was playing with this little toy, which is a taggy jingly elephant thing and the elephant nose ended up in her mouth. Tim took a picture with is phone because he thought it was so cute.







Later that same day she decided to try another cuisine... her own toes. It was adorable watching her look so intently at her cute little toes and then lean over to start sucking on them. Kinda gross, but definitely cute!

Decorating for Halloween

We had a little Halloween decorating party tonight! Instead of stringing popcorn we ate it and strung skeletons! And we have an infestation of cobwebs now! Yea, I have an excuse not to dust!

The teetertotter incident

Yeah, well the picture just says it all. Poor Julaine pretty much flew off the teetertotter thanks to a kid overload on it. She is so light that it sure doesn't take much. :(

Oh how I love our backporch and backyard!!!

It was 70 degrees out there today!!!! Yea! I just had to take some pictures of our backyard! I am going to miss this...but who knows, perhaps piled under snow it might take on a whole new personality that won't be all that bad. We'll let you know. Until that day I'll take every day over 40 degrees and enjoy what we have. (Well, OK... probably over 50)

The trampoline and the sandbox are the kids' favorites. I love that you can just walk right on the trampoline. It is so nice and it makes it so that Tim and I can jump as well! No more climbing up stairs and trying to fit through the little opening in the safety netting we had. What a pain. Needless to say it didn't happen very often. Now Tim and I are on it, well, more often than we were! The sandbox sometimes I regret. They get so dirty! It's the messiest thing out there, but they really really really love it. They would dig in the dirt areas in the yard before anyway, so at least now it is contained and in an area that is ok to dig in. I just hate it when they turn the hose on....oh what a mess!.

The swings, which Tim build shortly after we moved here and that I can swing on, are a close runner-up.

The teetertotter is a new addition this summer. The kids have really loved it. Tim and I were on it for about two minutes and then looked at each other and both asked what it was we used to love about them! The kids can have it! I can see the kids out there in their snow suits going up and down. Just might have to see that that happens! If Logan goes crazy during the really cold weather, we just might have to bring the little playset you see on the back right inside the house. We don't have the room but I would love a little indoor jumper trampoline. Logan just might be the kids that forces me to do it!
