Bliss at Carrabbas
Great way to end a great day... a great meal at Carrabbas Italian Grill! Yummy! Tim & Loreen with their 5 kids. Kylie Julaine Jaren Logan and Kiora. When we left the hostesses called us amazing. Was that for having 5 kids or because the kids did amazingly well in the restaurant? I am kind of biased when it comes to believing we have such good kids so it probably was the number thing. ha ha. No actually they do quite well. Other wise we would never do as much stuff as we do with our kids. We tell them that if they want to keep doing fun things they have to obey. I guess it works pretty well. There really is a lot to do around Utah. We did not want to travel far but with the kids being out of school we wanted to feel like we had some what of a vacation. We stayed one night at SpringHill Suites Marriott right there at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi Ut. Cornbellys Corn Maze had a lot for the kids to do. They always love the Museum of Ancient History and the dinosaurs there. And of course, we love eating good food. 10-21-08
Digging for Dino bones!
Their other favorite place- digging for dinosaur bones. They hardly get tired of it. Kylie Jaren Julaine and Logan. 10-21-08. North America Museum of Ancient Life. Thanksgiving Point Lehi UT

Loreen and Kiora watching the other kids play with the erosion table. We want to play too! This mobile blogging is so easy and fast. I can just send photos directly from my phone straight to my blog and facebook. Nice! I am doing this while we are still here in the museum! Sure saves time later. Picture quality sucks but we forgot our camera anyway. Gives you an idea though. Very fun day so far. Tim and I are just looking forward to Carrabbas later.

The Pumpkin Princess

Ok, seriously, this Pumpkin Princess thing is a big deal! Kylie saw the princess in her carriage, which they had sat in earlier and was excited to get in and sit next to her. Photo op!

Julaine sitting next to the Pumpkin Princess. She would have dressed the part had she had a beautiful orange gown as well!
Jaren saw that the girls got candy when they sat with the Pumpkin Princess in her pumpkin coach, and wasn't about to be left out. So, into the carriage he went and of course, we had to get a picture of him too. He said later that he liked it when she called him a PRINCE!! How cute!
Pedal Cars
Jaren enjoying the pedal cars. I think that is Tim with Logan on his lap up on the left. Hard to tell. Logan did ride with Tim though. Actually, Logan was the first on the pedal cars..... crazy, but the kids were jumping on the, I think they were called the Jumping Pillows, big jumpy things, when all of a sudden I couldn't find Logan. After looking around I found him on the other side of the fence on the pedal cars. Scary. He was having fun though. I don’t know why my computer changes to this font randomly??? Sooooo weird!

Kids and trampoline 10-18-08
Enjoying the sunshine and the trampoline on a wonderful lazy Saturday! Kids and neighbors. 10-18-08. Added later: Wow! I love mobile blogger. I uploaded this straight from my phone and it created this post and everything. So very nice and easy!
Hangin' out on the backyard patio on the swing 10-17-08

Just enjoying the October 70 degree weather! Julaine, who normally hates me taking pictures of her actually wanted me to on October 17, 2008. I told her she had beautiful lashes and she wanted to see. Logan always wants me to take pictures of him!
Yummy!
Oh they things that go in their mouths! On October 17th Kiora decided to try elephant. She was playing with this little toy, which is a taggy jingly elephant thing and the elephant nose ended up in her mouth. Tim took a picture with is phone because he thought it was so cute.

Later that same day she decided to try another cuisine... her own toes. It was adorable watching her look so intently at her cute little toes and then lean over to start sucking on them. Kinda gross, but definitely cute!

Kylie and Kiora. I'm not sure who was laughing more, Kylie or Kiora. I think they both had each other going. We were just hanging out on the back porch!

Decorating for Halloween
The teetertotter incident
Oh how I love our backporch and backyard!!!
It was 70 degrees out there today!!!! Yea! I just had to take some pictures of our backyard! I am going to miss this...but who knows, perhaps piled under snow it might take on a whole new personality that won't be all that bad. We'll let you know. Until that day I'll take every day over 40 degrees and enjoy what we have. (Well, OK... probably over 50)The trampoline and the sandbox are the kids' favorites. I love that you can just walk right on the trampoline. It is so nice and it makes it so that Tim and I can jump as well! No more climbing up stairs and trying to fit through the little opening in the safety netting we had. What a pain.
Needless to say it didn't happen very often. Now Tim and I are on it, well, more often than we were! The sandbox sometimes I regret. They get so dirty! It's the messiest thing out there, but they really really really love it. They would dig in the dirt areas in the yard before anyway, so at least now it is contained and in an area that is ok to dig in. I just hate it when they turn the hose on....oh what a mess!.The swings, which Tim build shortly after we moved here and that I can swing on, are a close runner-up.
The teetertotter is a new addition this summer. The kids
have really loved it. Tim and I were on it for about two minutes and then looked at each other and both asked what it was we used to love about them! The kids can have it! I can see the kids out there in their snow suits going up and down. Just might have to see that that happens! If Logan goes crazy during the really cold weather, we just might have to bring the little playset you see on the back right inside the house. We don't have the room but I would love a little indoor jumper trampoline. Logan just might be the kids that forces me to do it!
Politics
OK... honestly I hate politics so you won't see much of this topic on here at all. Besides this is our family blog, not mine and so I don't want to clutter it with filth! Tim and I have the same political beliefs, which is good, and though we don't hash it out much with others, we do have fun talking about things to each other. We like bashing the bad guys!
Anyway... feel free to follow this link to a site where I do spend a bit of time (very little bit) on Politics. I've mainly added some links to some good articles that I've liked. On that site you will find a link back to here. Enjoy. (Is that even possible with politics???)

Sunny afternoon and Kiora loving the trampoline
It has been downright cold lately, but today the sun was shining and we went out into the backyard to enjoy the 55 degree weather. Yeah, still only 55, but compared the 20's and 30's it has been it seemed wonderfully warm! I bundled Kiora up and held her while Logan and I jumped on the trampoline and it was so funny when Kiora started laughing! She was so cute. She wouldn't stop smiling. I love that we buried the trampoline and how easy it is to just walk right on it. I would have never taken her up the ladder and through the small opening that you had to crawl through to get through the safety netting. Oh, what a difference it has made! I love our backyard and so I guess I will just have to bundle kids up all winter so that we can still enjoy it! We swung on the swings too, which she liked as well, but I never got the laughter out of her on them.
Called to talk in church
Ummm yeah, so I got THE call. The bishop even asked first if we were going to be in town next Sunday. We actually, honestly, had been thinking about going out of town since the kids are out of school Monday and Tuesday of next week. OK, so I had the typical angel on one shoulder and the little devil dude on the other. The devil dude won out this time and made me tell the Bishop that I would get back with him since we still did not know our plans. So, believe me, I tried and tried, made call after call, researched on the internet and did everything to try to make a little vacation work for us.
It's not that I don't like speaking in church. It really isn't a big deal for me. The preparation, the actual speaking...no big deal. It was just that little devil dude on my shoulder wanting to win this one. Of course the little angel on my shoulder had Tim telling me that in the amount of time that I was researching possible vacation spots I could have had my talk written. He was all for going, but did point out that we would save a lot money if we stayed home, and he could do some projects around the house if we stayed. I think my little angel wanted to win too.
To make a long story the same length, the angel ended up winning and I am now scheduled to speak in our sacrament meeting this coming Sunday. The topic that Bishop Remp asked me to speak on is CHARITY. I've included what I have worked on so far on my google site:
http://sites.google.com/site/loreenbliss/Home/talks/Charity
If you care to read it, check it out. I've included some personal stories, including one having to do with shortly after our twins were born.
The Bishop said he felt inspired to call me to speak, so who am I to argue with the Lord.

The Bliss Family - the entire Bunch - July 5, 2008

I thought I'd better post this picture. This is Tim's entire family together on July 5, 2008. Just after we had Kiora (well, 6 days later)! This was taken the same day as the family picture, and the ones we have of me and Kiora and Tim and I and Kiora posted on here already. Crazy day, but well worth it! I must say I am the most lucky daughter-in-law ever! I definitely married into a wonderful family!
So, do you want names? Sorry, I have them in my scrapook, but I really don't want to add them here. Perhaps someday I will. :)
By the way guys, this is photo number 157, the best one I found in the lot.

Kiora Sucking her Thumb
Tim took this adorable picture with his phone camera. Such a cutie! (Well, yeah, they both are!)
None of our kids have been pacifier babies. Believe me, we've tried! But oh well... thumbs don't fall on the floor. She doesn't suck her thumb often, and is still trying to master it, but it is definitely cute to watch.

New Job Chart!

The kids created this job chart on Saturday, October 11, 2008. What a team they were!
While Logan was napping Kylie Julaine Jaren and I created a new family job chart that Julaine designed. Pretty creative kids! We'll let Logan color on it when he wakes up. There is a pocket on the front under their pictures where they will place their job card which will be drawn out of Jarens card holder he designed. He also created the pocket. Kylie was the scribe and engineer for the project. Julaine drew and colored the job cards. They actually worked very well together. I was pleasantly surprised. Now Julaine wants to do a witch making project next! I'm tired. Yawn!

Rides in a firetruck!

Every year the local firefighters host a chili and firetruck rides evening. We have gone every year since we've moved here. Hmmm we might have missed the first year since we had just moved the end of summer and they do it in the fall. Anyway... it is one of the favorite things the kids enjoy here in good ol' Delta. Before we had gotten to the station ,the truck rode right in front of our house. J.D. a friend of ours, who is a fireman, was driving one of them and let the siren wail! The kids loved it and of course tried to hurry us out the door to get on over to the station. We always walk since it is only a couple of blocks away. The chili is delicious and riding on the firetruck, especially when it drives right in front of our house is always fun. This year, J.D. even dropped the kids off at our house at the end of the night. That was pretty cool to be taken h0me on a firetruck.

I had updated my facebook status saying something like "Loreen rode in a firetruck with her kids tonight" or something like that... but then got a comment about hoping it wasn't for an emergency! :) So I decided to change it to "Loreen rode in a firetruck with her kids for firefighter appreciation night." haha We sure do appreciate all they do for us and the community! This was the first year Brother Scoville wasn't there. He passed away a few months ago. His wife, Mary was there though even still! We missed him! (No, he didn't die in a fire.) This all reminds me of my 9/11 post and how brave and patriotic all these folks who serve others are. Thank you for sharing your talent of serving!
Here we are on the left in the picture above... Julaine, Jaren, Logan, and Loreen. Kylie and her friend, Tracie are sitting up in the front! (I don't know who those other people are.)

Playin' Croquet
On Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 we had Candace and Brian over and get this, yes, we played Croquet! Haha.. They actually teased us with being a part of some secret underground croquet club in Delta when we suggested it. Ha ha. None of us had played it in in years. We owned a croquet set but really hadn't used it in a long long time. So, we broke it out and actually had a really fun time. The kids loved it too. Candace and Brian suggested we do it again. They are such a fun couple and it is a blast when we get together. Both Tim and I get along great with them.
Candace and Brian have two kids with one on the way. Our kids had a blast playing with them. We've gotten together before but this was the first time we have had them to our house. I loved having a fun place to play. It was funny... Brian kept saying he wished he were a kid again in our yard. We have collected a lot of toys through the years and have added a lot with the new yard recently. He got on the swing set (which Tim built after moving to Delta) and jumped off (trying to do it when kids, well, HIS kids weren't looking) ... of course our Jaren had to copy him. :) We love the trampoline and how it is buried in the ground! The kids had fun on the teetertotter which was a new addition this summer. I really am NOT looking forward to winter. We have enjoyed our yard and porches too much this year.
Candace uses the same midwife as me. In fact, it was her and Misty Lynn that got me interested in looking into Cathy OBryant. I am so glad for their examples in home birth and for getting me so excited about Kiora. Turned out to be an excellent decision, of course. Candace is due the first part of the new year and is soooo excited for this new baby. Actually, Misty is pregnant too! She is due in April. Say Hi to Cathy for me when you guys have your appointments!

Video of Logan and Kiora Oct 1, 2008
fIt's hard to hear, but Logan is saying "boggittyboggittyboo" Logan is usually so talkative I was surprised at how quiet he was. He was pretty involved with the packing poppers though. Those are cool. Kiora is 3 months old now and Logan is 2 1/2.
