Trip to the Zoo - Aug 2008

Just before school started we took a trip up north and went to Hogle Zoo. We hadn't been there in many years. Well before Logan. In fact, I remember pushing the twins around in their double stroller! Kiora did very well, as did all the other kids.

Kylie loved seeing the Kangaroos. Jaren, the monkeys and the alligator. Julaine loved the giraffes and the monkeys, and Logan loved the Elephants! Kiora actually slept through a lot of it (which was really nice!) We made it through without too much tradedy except for Logan losing his favorite toy Cars phone. Sigh.

Logan was zonked out at the end of the day, but Kiora was wide awake! This is the fountain out in front of the zoo. We took this just as we were leaving.

Made it to the TWO Month baby mark!

Woo Hoo! Kiora Lillie Bliss is two months old today! Happy 2 mo. b-day Kioara. What a sweet little girl. She's brought a lot of joy over the last couple of months!

Unfortunately, she is sick. Yeah, her first cold. Kinda sucks. Last night (right about the time she was born two months ago, go figure) was pretty miserable for her. She was all stuffed up and I had to use the bulb syringe for snot sucking several times. (Wow, I never have really needed to use the bulb syringe before. All my other kids used to just play with it, suck on the end ect. Guess I'll have to keep this used one out of reach!) I had to keep her upright so she could semi-breathe. Poor thing. Kylie is sick, and Logan is sick too, so I guess it's just a matter of time for everyone else.

The picture of my sickies (Logan eating a strawberry, Kylie holding Kiora) was taken with my Asus EeePC 900 little 9 inch screen laptop. It has a 1.3 mega pixels camera built in so I thought I'd take one for quick easy posting. (I love my new birthday laptop!!) I took pictures with our "paparazzi" camera too (as Darla would call it) so a much clearer, better one will be posted eventually. :) For a web posting, this picture really isn't all that bad. cool Please note that this picture was taken in the very bathroom that she was born in. (I had a waterbirth!)

Kiora Lillie Bliss

Kiora Lillie Bliss was born on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 12:46 am. She was 7 lbs 10 oz, and was 20 inches long. I'll post more baby pictures soon. These two pictures were taken just seven days after Kiora was born! Her birth story is amazing and I will tell it soon. I'll probably include a link to a pdf file since I have it all written out already. I will say now that Kiora was born at home with a midwife and it was absolutely wonderful!!!! Isn't she such a cutie! I can't believe that tomorrw she will be two months old. She's grown up so much already.

Hey, quick edition to this post.... I have a google site where you can read Kiora's birth story. I don't think there is a way to attach a pdf file to these posts, so here is a link where you can read it: Loreen's Google Site. :) (There will be an easy link back to this blog on my google site, though I made it so the link will open in a new window.)

My "Blissful" Family!

Here is a picture of our family... Tim and Loreen (me), Kylie is 9, Julaine and Jaren are twins and are almost 7, Logan is 2 and Kiora is only 7 days old!

I must say I have the most awesome kids in the world. They are even sweet to me, and believe it or not, will say things such as "I'm so glad you're our mom, you're the best mom!" OK.. wow.. better enjoy this while they are still young and will say things like that. I hope that does keep up though. It is nice to hear that because as a mom I think we feel we spend more time yelling at our kids than enjoying them. Everyday is a learning experience though.

Kylie Loreen Bliss will be TEN in November and is growing up soooo fast. She mimics Hanna Montana way too much and is already acting like a preteen. I'm holding on to her innocence as long as possible. She is great to talk with and can carry on a rather deep conversation. She loves to sing and write music, keep her room clean, read, cook, play the piano, play with friends and family and is a great helper. She can get a little bossy at times but that is because she cares about her siblings so much. (right?)

Julaine Leda Bliss turned 7 on July 11th and is mom's little helper. She wants to hold her new little sister as often as she can. She loves to sing and can be super silly. She loves to read, play barbies, trains, and pretty much anything else. Though she may not say that she likes it, she does really well at soccer. Once you get Julaine talking she has a lot to say. She wants to do what her older sister does and needs reminding that she is 2 1/2 yrs younger though at times she doesn't act it.

Jaren Timothy Bliss also turned 7 on July 11th and yes, is Julaine's twin. (Julaine will point out that she is 3 minutes older though). Jaren is a super sweet boy that loves to play with his little brother and loves having a new little sister. He gets excited about so many things and loves to ride his bike, jump on the trampoline (he does great flips), ride his dad's horse, and play in our huge sandbox. Jaren is very active and even though he seems like he can't slow down, loves to chill with his siblings in front of a movie and eat popcorn.

Logan Reed Bliss is 2 going on 7. He wants to do everything that the older kids are doing. Wow can that boy jump. And I don't mean just on the trampoline... jump from and off of and to everything and anything. He is certainly a daredevil. Logan loves his new little sister and everything she does. "Look, he's sticking his toungue out at me!!!" (We are still working on the he/she thing.) He loves Thomas and playing with his trains, books, playing in the sandbox and with anything with water. (My fountains) He loves sign language and knows a ton of signs just for fun. He loves watching The Little Einsteins on the Disney Channel. Logan loves to sit on the front porch swing with me and is a joy to chat with. He is talking so well and can carry on the cutest conversations.

Kiora Lillie Bliss will be two months on August 29, 2008. She is full of smiles and makes the cutest little cooing sounds. She is becoming much more attentive and will respond wonderfully to her siblings, which of course, they love. Kiora loves smiling, music, and being outside. She is definitely mommy's girl, and while Tim is super cute with her and you can tell she loves her daddy, right now she wants me 99 percent of the time it seems. Of course, I am her food supply. I love having five kids and though it is crazy most of the time, couldn't imagine the family without Kiora. She is held almost constantly, which is fine with me. She will grow up knowing she is loved.

Wow! Tim and I are soooo incredibly blessed. We had kids so we could have wonderful grandkids, and were so lucky to have wonderful kids too! Since I'm doing the blogging I must say something about my better half. Tim is the best hubby in the world. How many men out there will help so much with the kids, change diapers, do dishes, make dinner, make the best cookies in the world, help with laundry and housework, keep up the yard and so many other wonderful things. I am truely grateful for all he does for me and the kids. Tim enjoys his work at the dairy, his horses, playing raquetball, bow hunting, reading and watching movies.

I Started Blogger when it was a pain....

OK... I think it might be simpler to just start a new blog than try to update my old one. I had to use html codes when I started blogger in February of 2005. Needless to say I really didn't stick with it. We'll see how much updated this site really is three and a half years later. :) It used to be a pain to post pictures... and I just tried the seemingly easy add image button it has now but I ended up with a "forbidden" error... hmmm what's up with that? OK tried again and it worked. Cool.... that was easy. Anyone know how to edit a photo once it is in your post? I had to delete the pic and then reload it so I could adjust the size (which I know you can drag it, but it looked weird), and place it to the left instead of the right. hmmm. OK... I just put our family picture in a different post anyway.

OK.... This will be the new blog of Tim and Loreen Bliss and family. We'll see where it goes. Tim does not get into blogging or facebook or myspace.... he thinks it's all pretty stupid. Oh, well, Tim, someone else can appreciate it even if it is just my kids! lol (laugh out loud, for those who don't know that). It pretty much is a blog for me.

For those of us that hate to scroll or back up......

What more than I say, I'm lazy. :) CLICK HERE to go to the top of the main page!

Hmmmm well, what do you know.. they have a home link at the bottom of each page (except the main) .... Guess you don't need this like you needed it in the old version of blogger. Cool.
